The Art of Cooking

I used to hate cooking with my mom.  Being forced to cook used to be the worst thing to me.  Now is a completely different story.
After years of never wanting to cook I one day just decided to make something.  I can't remember what it was, but I do remember I had a lot of fun making it.  So I kept cooking.  No recipes, just ideas straight out of my head.  I had some flops, lots of flops actually, and some really good turn outs.  Now I love to cook.
I never understood why people think they can't cook.  Cooking is easy, it just takes patience and practice.  If  you can read and follow directions, you can cook.
For those of you who have trouble with cooking, or those of you who love to cook, I'm going to leave a recipe for you.  Something simple and delicious!  And you'll never buy store bought Alfredo sauce again.
I normally just eyeball this recipe, so these measurements are not exact.  Just trust your taste buds and you'll be fine.
     Enjoy! :-)

Ingredients:

Fresh basil
1/4 cup butter
1 clove of garlic
3 cups of cream/half & half/whole milk (which ever you like better)
2 packages shredded Italian mixed cheese (parmesean, provolone, mozzarella)
White wine
Salt
White pepper

1 Package linguine

Directions:

Fill a big pot of water 3/4 with water.
Salt water and bring to boil.
While water is boiling, in large skillet melt butter on medium heat and add garlic.
When garlic is browned and fragrant, add cream and let simmer for 1 minute.
When water is boiling, add pasta.  Let cook for about 8 minutes or to taste.
Slowly mix in cheese to sauce mixture til desired texture.
Add white wine, salt and pepper to taste.  Let simmer til pasta is ready stirring occasionally.
When pasta is ready, strain and add to sauce.  Stir pasta in sauce til all pasta is thoroughly covered.
Garnish with fresh basil and serve.
