Bad Mood, Bad Diet.

Before I started exercising and watching what I ate I was not a happy person.  I was depressed, irritable, fatigued, had headaches, all that good stuff.  I just figured it was a normal thing that everybody went through.  WRONG!  Let me give you an example.
Yesterday was my husband's birthday.  We invited friends over and ate a lot of junk food.
Chips, candy, pizza, cake, soda... All sugar and carbs.  I don't normally eat that stuff anymore, so I was excited to have an excuse to eat it.  By the end of the day I all of the sudden got really annoyed, depressed, and my stomach was hurting so bad.  Everyone and everything was irritating me.  I didn't want to do what they were doing, I didn't want to be around anyone, it was terrible.  I didn't even give it a second thought why I felt that way until I noticed my self retreating to my room.  And then it hit me, I had nothing but sugar and carbs.  Some fat, but absolutely no protein.  So after a lot of water,  some antacids, and sleep I was back to normal.  My normal.
Most people make no connection to mental heath and diet.  They just think it's something they have to live with.  If you go and tell your doctor you're depressed, he won't say "Cut out the sugar, and start exercising!" he'll shove an anti-depressant at you.
I'm not a doctor and I am in no position to give any medical advice.  But I do suffer from depression.  And with my diet and exercise regimen, I have never needed drugs to help me.  So I urge you, if you feel sluggish and down try going for a walk.  Just start with that.  I promise you, it will help and you will feel better.
Just remember, exercise gives off endorphins, starchy carbs are porssesed like sugar in your body, and you don't need a chemical to help you feel more normal!
